Beginning of the film

      Some people are boarding (getting onto)  a boat.   Some people cannot get onto the boat.  Reason – there is not (sufficient) enough space on the boat.  Those people are left on the platform (at the coast).

On the boat, they are squeezed (squashed) together like sardines in a tin.  They are pressed together very hard  (because there are too many people on the boat).

Peter is afraid of going in to a new world.     His family is (worried) anxious of what will happen to them in future.  This means that the boat is (on a voyage) travelling to a new world.

As soon as the boat  leaves the coast, the passengers on the coast see a border line of the gap separating  them and a world which they might never know.      The other new world will be known only by people going on the boat when they reach there.

This moment is ----- a sad moment.

The gap separates the people on the coast and the people on the boat.

      we hear the resound of the horn (from the engine of the boat).
